About Us

Welcome to Monaro Vet Clinic, located in the heart of the Snowy Monaro at 3 Massie Street, Cooma NSW. For over four decades, our clinic has been a trusted name in veterinary care—serving not just Cooma, but the surrounding rural and alpine communities with dedication, compassion, and clinical excellence.

Where Heritage Meets Animal Care

Housed in one of Cooma’s original homes, our clinic blends historic charm with modern veterinary medicine. Once a family residence, the building has been lovingly converted into a fully equipped veterinary clinic that feels warm, familiar, and welcoming—whether you’re bringing in a working dog, a farm animal, or a rescued kangaroo joey.

A New Chapter with Dr Tim White

Today, Monaro Vet Clinic is led by Dr Tim White, who proudly continues the legacy of the clinic’s founder, Dr Peter Brennan. With over 20 years of veterinary experience across Australia and the UK, Dr Tim brings a depth of knowledge in both small and large animal care, as well as a rapidly growing interest in wildlife treatment and conservation.

Tim’s veterinary journey has taken him across remote outback communities, regional farms, and bustling city clinics. That experience has shaped his calm, practical, and hands-on approach to veterinary medicine. He’s passionate about providing comprehensive care in a rural setting—where every day brings something new, and flexibility, skill, and compassion are key.

Now rooted in the Snowy Monaro, Dr Tim is proud to serve a region known for its resilience, community spirit, and deep connection to animals—both domestic and wild.

Comprehensive, Compassionate Veterinary Services

At Monaro Vet Clinic, we treat a wide variety of animals, including:

  • Small animals – dogs, cats, and companion pets
  • Large animals – livestock, horses, and working animals
  • Pocket pets – rabbits, guinea pigs, and rodents
  • Exotic species
  • Native wildlife

Whether it’s a routine vaccination, spey or castration, a complex orthopaedic surgery, or a large animal emergency call-out, we’re equipped to handle it. We also work closely with wildlife rescue organisations like LAOKO and local rescue shelters like Little Life Sanctuary, to continue supporting these volunteer organisations.

Our Promise

We’re proud to serve as a community-first clinic—where animal welfare and client care always come first. Whether you’ve been with us for decades or it’s your first visit, you’ll find a team ready to listen, help, and provide the best care possible—no matter the species or situation.

At Monaro Vet Clinic, we’re not just a clinic—we’re your partners in lifelong animal care.
