Our Services

What we do

We offer a wide range of services that we can provide for your furry four (sometimes two) legged friends, and here at Monaro Veterinary Clinic, we are always striving to be the best we can for our community. We offer a range of services that cater to all sizes of clients:

Dentistry

By the age of 2 years old, it is estimated that 70% of cats and 80% of dogs will have some form of Periodontal disease.

We can perform a basic scale & polish – which includes a clean of your pets teeth under a general anaesthesia to remove mild tartar and plaque build up and help prevent tartar build up on the teeth which can lead to periodontal disease.

We can also perform dental extractions. These are also performed under a general anaesthetic, with possible nerve block/s being administered whilst under, to help reduce pain after the removal.

Pets that have gone through a dental will receive post op care instructions, and a discharge sheet to take home.

*Basic and Complex extractions take time and cost will depend on how many teeth were removed and the time taken*

Soft Tissue Surgeries

Unfortunately it is not uncommon for pets to undergo surgery at some point in their life. Whether it was a planned surgery to remove a wart, or an unplanned emergency to patch up a wound, we want to be ready for when your pet needs us.

Here at The Monaro Veterinary Clinic, we pride ourselves in staying up to date with new techniques and practices, and aim to achieve the best care possible. Whether your pet needs a hernia repaired or to stitch up a wound after falling off a ute, our team are always here to help.

Orthopaedic

Here at The Monaro Veterinary Clinic, we proudly offer the latest techniques in orthopaedic surgery. Our leading Veterinarian, Dr Tim White, has sought out the best techniques available for orthopaedic surgeries and has fined tuned his technique to offer to the general public. After undergoing training and travelling to Melbourne to further his knowledge in TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy), Dr Tim can offer his services to the Snowy Monaro.

Desexing

Desexing is one of our more routine procedures, here at Monaro Veterinary Clinic. Here at Monaro Veterinary Clinic, we pride ourselves in our approach to ensure patients undergoing surgery, are well cared for and treated with respect.

A male castration is the removal of the male testes (orchiectomy). The male testes are responsible for reproduction and creating the hormone testosterone which can contribute to inappropriate behavioural patterns like marking territory and mounting.

Females are desexed via the removal of the uterus, fallopian tubes, uterine horns and ovaries (ovariohysterectomy). Desexing a female pet helps prevent unwanted pregnancies and reduces risk of developing a condition called a pyometra (infection of the uterus) – that can be life threatening to pets. 1 in 4 entire females are at risk of developing pyometra. Approximately 25% of entire female pets before the age of 10 will develop pyometra.

Large Animal

We are an all-rounder clinic, here at the Monaro Veterinary Clinic. With our love for all animals, we couldn’t leave out the big guys!
